Automobile Policy

Students are allowed to have their cars on campus during the classroom quarters provided they abide by the following rules:

1. They strictly observe the speed limit on Camp Yavapines.
2. The student’s car is only parked in designated student parking areas.

SOULS West reserves the right to revoke a student’s privilege to have their car on campus for any reason.

Weekend Leaves

Students are allotted three weekend leaves per quarter. Weekend leaves must be approved according to the guidelines established by Student Government with final approval coming from the faculty.

Each weekend while on campus, a student has three events they must be attended: Friday night vespers, Sabbath school and church, and Sabbath evening vespers. A student can opt out of three of each of these events per quarter if approved properly.

Weekend leaves cannot be taken during blitzes.

The first weekend of a quarter and the last weekend of a quarter are closed weekends; weekend leaves cannot be taken during these times. See the calendar for the exact dates of closed weekends.

If a student is leaving campus and has been approved to take all three events off, they are free to leave after classes on Thursday evening and
must be back on campus by curfew on Saturday night.

Poor grades, a poor attendance record, or tardiness to curfews are all grounds for weekend leaves to be limited or revoked.

Guests or Visitors

Guests and visitors are welcome on the campus of SOULS West provided the following guidelines are observed:

1. All guests and visitors must check in with the office at Camp Yavapines as soon as they arrive. Because there may be other groups at the camp while SOULS West is in session, it is important for the camp office to know who is on the premises and to which group they belong.
2. Visitors are welcome to join SOULS West for meals as long as the cook has been notified at least a few hours before the meal they want to attend. SOULS West charges $2.50 per meal per person.
3. If visitors wish to spend the night, arrangements must be made with the Camp Office unless a SOULS West faculty member has already made arrangements.

Music

Music has the potential to be spiritually uplifting or debilitating. All music played on campus is to be evaluated and chosen based upon the spirit of the artist, the inspirational character, and the lyrical content.

Computers

Although SOULS West provides computers for student use, students may bring their own computer. Students are asked to use internet access, DVD’s, and movies for non-entertainment purposes only. As with every privilege, if it is not used responsibly, the privilege will be forfeited.

Internet Access

SOULS West does not have internet access on campus. Students often will go to the public library whenever they need internet access.
