Track 1 Classes

Studies in Prophecy: Daniel
This course will acquaint students with each chapter of the book of Daniel, enabling students to give a heart-warming yet convicting presentation of end-time truths. Special emphasis will be placed on chapters 7-9 which serve as the foundation for much of what Adventists believe.

Philosophy of Education
This course uncovers the truth about God's purpose for education, highlighting the foundational ideas upon which Christian education is built and the long term effect they have upon the way we think and the choices we make. The focus of the class will be the teaching methods of Christ, the Master Teacher, giving students a pattern to follow as they seek to become effective teachers. 

Principles of Accounting and Money Management
This course introduces basic economic concepts and accounting practices for managing personal and business finances. Money management issues such as budgeting, consumerism, insurance, home ownership, debt, and investments are included. Students also learn the fundamental accounting processes dealing with the bookkeeping and accounting functions necessary in businesses and service organizations.

Salvation
Each one of us struggles with sin, but what is it? How does it impact my relationship with Christ? Can I overcome it? We will begin with a discussion on the nature of sin, then take a powerful journey through the plan of salvation using the sanctuary services as an aid to understanding the components of salvation, such as God's mercy, justice, grace and righteousness, our faith response to Christ, justification, sanctification, and the atonement of sin.

Philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist Publishing (Intensive)
This course is a study of the history, purpose, and direction for the publishing ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is based on the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. Emphasis will be given to the combining of the publishing work with Bible work, medical missionary work, and the local church.

Seventh-day Adventist History (Intensive)
This course is a study of the history and development of the Seventh-day Adventist church from the Second Advent Awakening to its current global mission. Emphasis is given to the following areas: life sketches of pioneers, early evangelistic thrusts, doctrinal development, and the impact of the publishing work. Further study will include the development of this movement with emphasis on trends, teachings, growth, and mission work.

Seventh-day Adventist Fundamental Beliefs
This class uncovers the beauty of the doctrines that we hold as Seventh-day Adventists, establishing each belief upon a solid biblical foundation. Since Christ is at the heart of every teaching and is the focus of every topic, the essence of this class will be Jesus--His life, mission, and ministry. Note: This class only dwells on subjects not covered in other classes.

Christian Marriage and Family
This course covers vital factors in the choice and formation of friendships and lifetime companions. Since the Lord designs that families on earth should be symbols of the families of heaven, the students will also learn how to apply Biblical principles to everyday family life so that a sanctifying spirit can also be brought into the church.

Magabook Leadership
This course provides leadership training and experience needed for a ten-week summer Magabook colporteur program. Students will study techniques involving discipleship, discipline, training, and team management for evangelistic purposes. It will also open up opportunity to gain valuable insight on motivating Adventist peers to participate in literature ministry. A portion of the class will include in-field training to prepare the student for the Magabook Leadership Practicum.

Speech and Communication
This course covers instruction in oral communication skills needed to effectively minister in one-on-one and group environments. It encourages the practice of responsible communication after the pattern of Christ, the ideal Speaker. This course examines the preparation, presentation, audition, and critiquing of speeches of various kind--particularly informative and persuasive ones--with an emphasis on the selection and organization of supporting material, reasoning, techniques in closing, persuasive strategies, and elements of delivery. Application will be the primary focus.


Track 2 Classes

Studies in Prophecy: Revelation I
This course enables students to unlock the symbolism of the end-time prophecies in this special book, revealing Christ and His atoning work on Calvary and in the heavenly Sanctuary.

Life and Teachings of Jesus

The Science of Bible Work
The main thrust of this course is to teach students how to share their faith with non-Seventh-day Adventist people. After learning how to develop and conduct a Bible study, meet objections, and lead people to a point of decision, every student can be confident that their presentation of the gospel will be effective. Students will also learn how to coordinate training seminars in local SDA churches with the objective of transferring interest to local church members.

Health and Healing
This course will take a look into the physical, mental, and spiritual effects of food, natural remedies, and human development. It covers an overview of the natural prevention and healing of physical disease.

Medical Missionary (Intensive)

Personal Evangelism (Intensive)
This course explains how to use personal evangelism in preparation for successful public evangelism. It teaches the integration of public evangelistic efforts with personal evangelism techniques and resources for greater success. The student will learn how to organize and hold a public evangelistic effort using methods and principles based on the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy.

Studies in Prophecy: Revelation I

Apologetics

Introduction: The definition of apologetics is to; give a reason for what you believe.

The English word “apologetics” comes from the bible text: 1 Peter 3:15 “And be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you. The word for “answer” is the Greek word apologia, which means to give reason or defense.

This course will cover Christian apologetics, Creation apologetics and Adventist apologetics.

I.      Christian apologetics will cover the 5 major religions and give reasons why Christianity makes more sense then Hindu, Judaism, Islam or Buddhism.

II.    Creation apologetics will examine evolution and give reasons why Creation makes mores sense than Evolution.

III.  Adventist apologetics will compare the different religions that believe in Jesus and will give reasons why Adventism is the remnant church.


Sanctuary and its Service
This course is a biblical study of the sanctuary truth and its relationship to the history and message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Special attention will be given to the sanctuary's central theme of justification by faith.

Christian Leadership
This course equips students with the principles and techniques necessary to successfully lead youth, fellow church members, employees, and others. The methods that Christ used to disciple, counsel, and guide people during his ministry on earth will be our pattern.
